Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service crews have hosted over 20 car washes in aid of the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to help raise vital funds for the people of Ukraine.
So far, the Service has raised over £10,000 for the appeal, with two further car washes yet to take place on Saturday 9 April at Maryport and Millom Fire Stations:
- Maryport Fire Station - 10:00 - 15:00
- Millom Fire Station - 09:00 - 12:30
Paul Milburn, Station Manager and Charity Liaison Lead said:
“We would like to thank our local communities for supporting our car washes so far and helping to raise a fantastic amount to support Ukrainian people and communities.
“I’d encourage those local to Maryport and Millom to come along to their car washes on Saturday 9 April to support such a good cause.
“The people of Ukraine continue to be in our thoughts during this time. We stand in solidarity as we do whatever we can to support all those affected by the devastating and tragic events.”
