Cumbria Children’s Trust photography competition gives children and young people a chance to win £50
The Children's Trust Board are encouraging Cumbria’s young people to celebrate our beautiful county by taking a photo of Cumbria and sharing it in this exciting new competition.
The competition will show the perspective of our young people and support in planning for Cumbria’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
They want to see photographs that answer one of the questions below:
- What has living in Cumbria meant to you over the last 12 months?
- What does the recovery of Cumbria mean to you?
There will be three age categories:
- 10yrs and under
- 11yrs to 16yrs
- 17yrs to 21yrs
Winners of each category will receive a £50 Amazon voucher.
Submissions should:
- Include the name and age of the young person.
- Only include one photographic entry per person - they should choose the one they are most proud of.
- The photograph should be taken in Cumbria.
- The photograph should not include people.
- The photograph should be taken on a digital camera, tablet or phone.
- Include a title for the photograph and a very brief description. For example, ‘A frog I found in my back garden.’ The description will help the judges to understand why that image was chosen.
Councillor Anne Burns, Cabinet Member for Children's Services said:
“Cumbria is an amazing part of the world and a fantastic place to live. The young people of our county are our future, and we want our recovery plans to centre on their needs. The photos will provide an insight into their views, whilst encouraging our young people to get creative.”
