National Apprenticeship Week takes place from 8-14 February and Cumbria County Council will be hosting live online events to talk all things apprenticeships and share top tips and helpful advice about their up and coming opportunities. To join these live events visit

Cumbria County Council is one of the top employers in the North West recruiting over 40 new apprentices every year, many of whom go on to full time employment across a diverse range of careers such as civil engineering, highways, social care, ICT, HR, finance, business administration, fire, project management and customer services. An apprenticeship with the Council is more than you think and could take you further, whatever stage in your career you are at.
Cumbria County Council’s Apprenticeship Team are dedicated to providing support to all their apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey and have an award-winning track record. They picked up two top awards at the North West Apprenticeship Awards 2019. The team were winners of The QA Award for Macro Employer of the Year 2019 and The PeoplePlus Award for Recruitment Excellence 2019. Cumbria County Council also won the prestigious Campaign of the Year award at the LGC Awards 2020, up against competition from City of London, Westminster City Council and many more.

- Ask the Apprenticeship Team anything - from questions about employee perks to up and coming opportunities - they’re there to answer your questions.
Thursday 11th February - 6pm - Apprenticeships at Cumbria County Council - Getting started…top tips for writing an application and preparing for interviews
- Chat to the Apprenticeship Team about what you should, and shouldn’t, include on your application.
- Discuss writing style, length of your application, and things that you might want to focus on.
