New Deputy Lieutenant appointed in Cumbria
His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria, Mrs Claire Hensman, on Monday 6 February 2023, appointed the following to be a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Cumbria: Group Captain Mark David Leeming OBE, lives near Carlisle - Royal Air Force Officer who leads the Royal Air Force Air Cadet Organisation in the North of England
- Trustee of the Yorkshire Cadet Trust
- Trustee of the North Region ATC Sports & Welfare Fund
Mrs Hensman, said:
“I am delighted to appoint a new Deputy Lieutenant to the county to support me and the Lieutenancy. I have a number of Deputy Lieutenants located around the county who have a wealth of experience in connection with voluntary organisations, the Armed Forces and all other aspects of life in Cumbria.” Group Captain Leeming added: “I am honoured and delighted to be appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant and look forward to assisting His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Claire Hensman, in her work to champion and support the County and people of Cumbria.”
